Horses are honest in a way that's hard to hide from. They respond to what's actually happening in your body, not what you're saying about it. That honesty — offered without judgment — is part of why the work moves the way it does. Each horse at the Centre has a name, a history, and a role in the therapeutic process.
The horses do the therapy. Everyone else does the rest — greeting, supervising, presiding over the property, and reminding clients that the Centre is, above all, a working home.
Observer and gentle connector
Tucker greets every car that pulls up the drive, supervises every session, and considers the entire property his to patrol. He's the first introduction the Centre makes — a soft, no-pressure welcome — and the reason a lot of nervous first-timers stop being nervous before they've even said hello.
Cuddles for all
Sherlock takes his security duties seriously. He surveys, he investigates, he occasionally permits a chin scratch. Mostly he watches from the rafters of the barn and decides who passes inspection. He has never been wrong about anyone.
Doing their business
An ever-shifting committee of hens with strong opinions and full schedules. They run the coop, the run, and a sizeable chunk of the surrounding pasture. The eggs are excellent. The drama is constant. They are, in many ways, the heart of the place.
